Welcome to Katie Burke, OPI's new science specialist.


Katie is a Montana native who lived in Helena until the age of 13, at which time she moved to Vancouver, WA. She obtained her degree in biology with an emphasis in secondary education from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She then taught biology and integrated science at Columbia River High School in Vancouver, WA for four years. In the summer of 2007 she returned to Helena. Katie then taught biology at Helena High School during the 1st semester of the 2007-08 school year for a teacher on sabbatical. She is currently working on my masters in science education at Montana State University.
